Happy Halloween!!

Tonight we got all dressed up and went out to get some candy. Daddy dressed up as Frankenstein (Lance painted his face), Lexie was a zebra, Lance was superman, and I was a cowgirl (with no hat 😒. It got misplaced). We just went to a few neighbors and that was more than enough. Tricker treating in the snow was a new experience for all of us. The scary decoration didn't look so scary covered in snow. Our neighbors, Drew and Peter, decorated more than any one in the neighborhood. They gave the kids candy and the adults full sized candy bars and homemade hot apple cider! Definitely my favorite house!!!
The kids got home and immediately sat down and started eating candy. I had to put their buckets up before they got belly aches. Hopefully they don't think they can go knock on the neighbors doors for candy just any old day.

Snow much fun!

Today we woke up to about 4 inches of snow on the ground. It is cold enough now that the snow will be sticking around.
When daddy got home we put on all our snow gear and headed out to play. We had tons of fun. We pulled the kids around on their sleds and I showed Lance how to make a snow angel. We love the snow. I am curious to see how much we will end up with. Last year this area received over 12 feet.

Big girl

Today marks the 7th straight day of Lexie have NO ACCIDENTS!!! She went potty once in her panties and did not like it so she hasn't done it anymore. I am so proud of my little girl!! I still put diapers on at naptime and bedtime just in case. She wakes up from naptime dry but sometimes has an accident at night time.

Potty training 201

I am calling this potty training 201, because this is my second go around at potty training.
Lexie has been telling me for a while now when she had went potty and lately she has been trying to take off her own diaper. So I figure she Is ready. Sunday we made a trip to target and we bought a potty seat that sets in the toilet seat. When we got home I put it on and showed her. I took off her diaper and let her sit there awhile. She eventually pooped and was so happy!! We had high fives all around and everyone clapped and cheered.

Monday morning she woke up dry so I immediately set her on the potty and she went poop and pee!! Monday went really well, she even made it the whole trip to Walmart without going potty in her pants! Even when I left and went to a pampered chef event she went potty for daddy, but she did end of having an accident so daddy put a diaper on.

This morning she woke up just a touch wet. She said she had to potty and went right away. We had a really good day with potty training. So far so good. It would be great to have her potty trained before we 2nd birthday!

Fun filled weekend

Saturday we started off we a relaxing morning just hanging out watching Curious George. Around 2 my friend,Erin who is also a pampered chef consultant came over and we got busy planning for our booth next Saturday at a bazaar. While Erin and I got down to business Lexie napped and Lance and Daddy did some grocery shopping and looked at snow blowers.
Saturday night we went to a pumpkin carving party at a church up in Palmer. We love going to Palmer. It is such a beautiful drive and we always see moose or some other wildlife. The invitation said to bring a side dish and a pumpkin to carve. I made a chocolate lava cake that was done in my deep covered baker in the MICROWAVE!! I give the chocolate lava cake ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. It was super super yummy and so easy!!! Apparently everyone loved it at the party because there was none left at the end of the night.
The party was tons of fun. They had great food, pumpkin carving and judging, and the kids even bobbed for apples!! There were a few kids around 6 years old who were missing their front two teeth so bobbing for apples was pretty difficult.
Lance and Lexie both tried too but I think their mouths are still a little too small. We had a great time!

Sunday morning we tried a new church that we really liked. So now we have two grey choices that are close to home.
I had a pampered chef cooking show Sunday at 2 so Andrew took the kids to McDonald's to eat and play in the play place then back home for naps

Last night we went to sears and to Lowe's in search of a snow blower. We didn't buy one but I think Andrew has narrowed down his choices. We know living in Alaska that it is something we will use 7 months or more out of the year so it is definitely a necessity.

We also had a big event happen on Sunday night; Lexie pooped in the potty!!! I had bought her a potty insert so I didn't have to hold her up on the potty, because she didn't like that. She loved being able to sit like a big girl and it didn't take long before she let me know she was ready to use it. I am so proud of my little girl!! Today we are starting potty training full force. As soon as she wakes up we are heading to the potty and she is getting her big girl underwear on for the day.

Pinterest day 3

So yesterday we didn't get a chance to do any pins but I figured it was ok since we did 3 the day before.
Today we did bubble art. I colored bubble mix and let Lance blow bubbles at an art canvas. We did this while Lexie napped, because I figured it would be best to try one at a time. We didn't want to stain anything.

I set everything up in the bathroom since it would be the easier place to clean up.

Of course, Lance loved the bubbles. What kid doesn't? He had lots of fun mixing colors and watching them pop and make a "painting". I think next time we do this we will wait and do it outside. This is not something I recommend doing inside. I give this pin 4 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐
We can't wait to try other pins with bubbles. One in particular that I am curious about is blowing bubbles when it is below freezing outside. Will they really turn to ice and break?

Today at Preschool.

This morning we were a little late getting to preschool. We try to be there by 8:15, because that's when they start serving breakfast. Lance was excited to go to school but he was kind of hard to get ready because it was still dark out. The days here are getting shorter everyday. Now it isn't completely light out till around 8:30, which is when the kids got dropped off today.

I went to Michael's craft store and found a great frame for our family pictures we had taken last month. I also got a few things for my Pampered Chef booth's that I have coming up.

When I picked the kids up from preschool I went to Lexie's room to get her. I had told her teacher that I would be back before nap time so she didn't have to lay down with the other kids. Well nap time started early today and Lexie decided that she needed a nap too. Her teacher told me she went over and laid down rite by her friend and went rite to sleep. I just had to take a picture she was so cute!

Since Lexie was asleep I figured I should go get Lance first. His class ha just started laying down. When we was on our way out the door a little girl said "give me a kiss first" so Lance bent down and kissed her on the lips. It was cute. I asked Lance what her name was and he just said he didn't know. How funny.

I really enjoy my time alone to get things done, but I always wonder what the kids are doing. I would love to be a fly on the wall in their classrooms and watch them all day. I am so thankful God has given me a husband with a job that allows me to stay home and take care of our kids. I love being there for every little thing and being able to be the one to teach them all the new things they learn each day.

Tonight we went to some friends of ours daughter's choir concert. I knew the kids would really enjoy it since they love music so much.
They sat so quiet the whole concert and barely moved. They LOVED the whole thing especially the big finally! Everyone was dressed up in black and white with the white glowing and they marched all around the auditorium singing. It was pretty cool! We can't wait for the Christmas concert!

Pinterest Pin Day 2

I found this pin on Pinterest for toddlers and I thought it would be perfect for Lance & Lexie. I told them that today we were going to do a science experiment. Lance was really excited. Lexie just looked at me curious.
The experiment is you put vinegar in a few small bowls, color it different colors, then put baking soda in a container ( I used a Tupperware bowl and a round cake pan), give your kids eye droppers (I didn't have those put a I had a medicine dispenser and a syringe) and let your kids go to town. They loved squirting the colored vinegar in baking soda and watching it sizzle. Lexie actually pointed and said "hot?" When I first showed her what to do. I guess she thought it was boiling. The kids loved it and it kept them busy for about 30 minutes. I think if you had eye droppers and they did the tiny amounts that it would last longer.
Lance enjoyed the experiment the most. He loved mixing the colors. Lexie's favorite part was running her fingers through the mix. She is all about having to touch everything!!
I give this science experiment 5 out of 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
It was super easy, safe, and cheap! I had everything on hand anyway. We just used the old baking soda from the freezer that needed replaced anyway. We will be doing this again for sure! I bet the kids will want to do it again when daddy gets home from work.

I also tried to more pins that night, I did a chicken bacon ranch macaroni which turned out fabulous ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
And I made strawberry brownies. I wanted to try the strawberry brownies because I thought they would be perfect to bring to my pampered chef shows this month since it is Help Whip Cancer month. I thought serving the pink brownies would be a perfect way to bring up the topic. Well they weren't very good. They had no flavor at all. I give them ⭐ for being super easy. That's it.

A Pinterest a day!!

I love Pinterest! Like I am addicted. Every night after putting the kids to bed I lay in bed searching Pinterest for new fun things to do with the kids, food recipes to try, and anything else that may catch my eye. I have sooo many pinned so I have decided that I am going to try at least one pin a day for a month.
Today I started the day by making pumpkin French Toast. This is a pretty simple recipe and taste so yummy! The kids loved helping measuring and mixing the ingredients. They love using all my pampered chef measuring devices!!
The Pumpkin French Toast was super yummy! The pin said to serve with maple syrup, but we sprinkled powdered sugar instead. We all really enjoyed the pumpkin French toast. I give it 4 out of 5 stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I love pumpkin and can't wait to try more pumpkin recipes!

Movie time!

Yesterday the kids still had a bit of a cough so we stayed home from church. It didn't take long sitting at home before we decided we needed to get out of the house. A movie sounded like fun so I looked up movies on fandango. The kids have watched one movie at the theaters before and that was a big iMax theater at the Louisville Science Center about Polar bears.
Ice Age looked like the perfect movie for us, and at just $3.50 for each of us (well, besides Lexie she was Free). I packed my bag full of snacks and daddy bought some popcorn at the theater. He said "you have to have popcorn to get the full experience".
They movie theater even had little booster seats so the kids could sit up high and not miss a thing.
It was so cute watching the kids watching the movie. I love their reactions to it and how into it they were.
We don't have cable or anything so TV is a special treat. We have started doing a movie night every now and then but I want it to be a special.
The kids did so good through the movie. They started getting a little antsy at the end but they made it all the way through. When the movie was over Lance grabbed both the booster seats and said "we got to put them back where we got them". It made me so proud!

More Aurora & Snow

Last night the northern lights were the brightest I have seen so far. It was so awesome watching the changing colors dance above. Andrew and the kids went to bed early so I snuck out to skyline for a better view.
At least if it is going to be dark most of the winter we will have the Northern lights to watch. God truly is an amazing Creator!
This morning we was greeted by giant snow flakes! They were so beautiful as they fell slowly to the ground. We got about 2 inches total today! I love it when everything is covered with a nice layer of fresh clean powder. I am hoping the kids get over this cold so we can go out and enjoy it. I can't wait to build a snowman, make snow angels and have a snowball fight!

Interpretation

I love to sing to my kids. One song that I sing quite often is "I Come To The Garden Alone". The song starts out "I come to the garden alone while the dew is still on the roses". Well, the other day I overheard Lance singing while on the potty. He sang "I come to the garden alone and I sit on the roses!" It was so cute and so funny!!! Then he continued on "and He tells me I am alone". That part of the song is supposed to say, "and He tells me I am His own"
I find it so funny what his interpretation of things are. I am sure in his mind it makes perfect since to sit on the roses. I mean, he doesn't understand about dew. I love my little guy and listening to him sing!

Wonderful Wednesdays!

About a month ago I decided that one day a week in preschool would be good for everyone. After doing tons of research and calling about every preschool, Andrew and I found what seems to be the perfect place for our kids!!
The kids have been going now for as month and they are really enjoying it!! Lance absolutely loves it!!! Lexie is liking it ok. She isn't used to being a away from mommy, but she is adjusting very well!!
I love the me time. I get so much done!! It is allot easier going grocery shopping, to the dentist, DMV and well most places without two small kids. I get so much accomplished!! It actually gives me more time to spend with the kids, because I am not spending all evening cleaning. We have such a great evening and it makes for a wonderful Wednesday!

Bouncing bears

We got invited to our neighbor's 4th birthday party on Saturday at a place called Bouncing bears in Wasilla. It was a rainy day and daddy had to work so it seemed like the perfect thing for the kids and me to do.
The kids had tons of fun at Dillon's birthday party. They loved bouncing on all the inflatables! I loved watching them burn up all that energy. The kids slept so good that night.
Another trip to bouncing bears is a must. It is the perfect place to take the kids when it gets too cold to play outside!

Green eggs and Ham

Lance has always loved books!! We first started out with little board books and now we have started on books that have more words on a page and that actually tell a story. Most books we have memorized and it is so cute to see him "read" to Lexie. She pays attention so close. She loves big brother reading to her.
Lance used to not pay any attention to the Dr. Seuss books we had, because they weren't quite real enough for him. Lately though he can't get enough of Green Eggs and Ham. We have read it so much that he almost has it memorized.
Today for lunch he requested that I make him some green eggs and ham. We didn't have any ham, but he was pretty happy with the green eggs. He kept saying "I like green eggs and ham, I do! do!!!"

American Hero

We live not far from a military base so there are tons of military families that live here. I can't tell you how many times I have been asked if we were with the military. People kind of assume that is the only reason we would move here.
Yesterday Lance and I went over to our neighbor's house and helped her hang a sign up welcoming her husband, Ryan home. Ryan had been in afganistan for 10 months, and he finally returned home last night. I can't imagine the joy she must have. The longest we have ever been away from Andrew was a little over two weeks and at no point did i feel his life was in danger. I am so thankful to the men and women who serve to protect our country. They really are Heroes!
Welcome Home, Ryan!!!

Bucket List

I don't have a bucket list, but if i did seeing the Northern Lights would definitly be at the top of my list. Well, I would be able to cross that off my list because last night after 9;00 pm we loaded up the kids, drove to the top of skyline road and watched the northern lights. It really was breath taking! The most predominate colors are green and blue and they were beautiful!! We even seen a flask of pink. Lance loved the colors but Lexie was more interested in watching what everyone else was doing. She kept waving to everyone yelling, "Hi" and "bye".
When we got home we realized we could see the lights from our back deck through the trees. It was pretty cool but not as neat as sitting at the top of skyline. I am thinking Andrew and I need to have a date night soon! I can't think of anything that would be more romantic than having a picnic watching the Northern Lights. I even downloaded an app on my iphone that tells us the Aurora Forecast, so we will know when the lights are the most active.
